Kibale National Park is home to the largest group of chimpanzees in Uganda, which has the highest number of chimpanzees in the world, around 4,950. In Kibale, you'll find about 1,500 of these amazing animals.

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda | Kibale National Park | Visit Bigodi Swamp

When you arrive in Uganda, our Kubwa Five Safaris guide will greet you at Entebbe International Airport, holding a sign with your name. You will then be taken to Kibale National Park.

After checking into your lodge, you’ll visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary in the evening. This area, located in Magombe swamp, is home to many types of wildlife, including primates like red colobus monkeys, baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and L’Hoest monkeys. You may also see other animals like sitatungas, mongooses, bush pigs, otters, and bushbucks.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking | Birding | Relaxation

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters with your guide and a packed lunch to learn about the rules for chimpanzee trekking. Then, you’ll start your trek, which can take 2 to 6 hours depending on where the chimpanzees are located.

As you walk through the forest, enjoy the diverse wildlife and look out for various bird species. Seeing chimpanzees in their natural habitat is an unforgettable experience, as these creatures share much of our DNA. The thrill of being close to them will stay with you forever.

After the trek, return to your lodge to relax.

Day 3: Departure | Equator Stopover | Transfer to Airport

After breakfast, you’ll be driven to Entebbe. Along the way, you’ll stop at the Equator for lunch in Masaka. Here, you can see the line that divides the Earth into two hemispheres and take photos, buy snacks, and souvenirs.

After lunch, you’ll continue to Entebbe International Airport for your flight home.
